This month's blog hop challenge at Papertrey Ink is to create 5 holiday tags. At first I didn't think I would be able to participate in this challenge since I have just started purchasing PTI products earlier this year and I don't have a single PTI Christmas image or sentiment. Yesterday I was looking through my dies and decided to try and make it work with what I have. Here is what I came up with:
I used my Spiral Notebook Die to cut bases from some pretty snowflake patterned paper. I created my wreath using my Heart Border Die. I used the word 'Joy' from one of my PTI birthday stamps and using a Versa Mark marker was able to apply ink only to that word without having to do any masking, then heat embossed with gold. I then snipped between the hearts stopping just short of cutting all the way through so that I could form the border into a wreath. I coloured some rhinestones with a copic, added them and a bow, some gold string and 'to' 'from' and that was it. Nothing extraordinary but I am pleased with the result.
Supplies:
Dies - Spiral Notebook, Heart Border (PTI)
Stamps - Stylish Sentiments: Birthday (PTI), Card Word Puzzle (CTMH)
Paper - Christmas Cottage (Teresa Collins)
Ink - Memento Tuxedo Black, Versa Mark Marker, Gold EP, Copic - R89
Other - 1/8" ribbon, rhinestones
Very creative and really cute! Great job!
ReplyDeleteWhat a great idea to use a heart die for the wreath! It looks so pretty! I love the embossed "joy" too. You and your heat gun got a great workout!
ReplyDeleteLovely!! Awesome idea for the bases!
ReplyDeleteVery creative, Connie! I love how you used the notebook die and your handmade heart wreath is incredible!! When I first joined in the blog hops, all I had that was PTI was the paper! In fact my heart jar tag was just the white paper this time. Since then, of course, I've purchased a few, ahem, PTI items besides the paper!! Hugs, Darnell
ReplyDeleteHow creative! These are just lovely. Very fitting to put the sentiment joy in each heart at Christmas:-)
ReplyDeleteConnie you were a creative genius. So cute!!
ReplyDeleteYou mastered the creative challenge of working with what you have - terrific tags!
ReplyDeleteGreat way to improvise. Love the heart wreath. These would make great valentines day tags too.
ReplyDeleteThis is cute and creative! It's fun to create tags out of things that are not tags per say. I did something similar.
ReplyDeleteBut they are extraordinary Connie! And to think you made them with just what you had...I am SO impressed!! I love the idea of not cutting all the way through the heart border die so that it will bend into the circle shape...I am so going to try that! And I love the tiny gold embossed joy in the heart centers...very clever. You have every reason to be proud...they're lovely! :0)
ReplyDeleteNot extraordinary? They're amazing! So creative. Loving the pattern in the center created by the bottom of the hearts.
ReplyDeleteGorgeous tags! And I love how you took what you had and came up with this fabulous design! Love the gold embossed "joy" on the hearts! :)
