PTI June Blog Hop - Peony Hello

Today is the day of Papertrey Inks Monthly Blog Hop challenge. This month Nichole provided us with a pretty inspiration piece of art from Yellena James. What first struck me in this piece was the largest pink transparent element.

Even though this card isn't remotely like anything I started out with I do like how it turned out. I heat embossed the largest flower from Peonies on Parade with white on vellum and lightly painted it with Picked Raspberry and Antique Linen distress inks from Ranger. I die cut the flower and layered it over a second vellum die cut. I inked up the single leaf image from Meadow Greens with Broken China and Peeled Paint distress inks and spritzed with water before stamping on white CS and fussy cut them out. The two frames were die cut from a couple of failed attempts at sponged backgrounds using Broken China, Cracked Pistachio and Peeled Paint inks and I added some more lightness with the Branching Out vellum die cut.

Supplies:
Stamps - Peonies on Parade, Meadow Greens, What the Doodle Feather (PTI)
Dies - Peonies on Parade, Branching Out, Keep It Simple Frames (PTI)
Paper - Stampers Select White CS, white vellum
Ink - Broken China, Antique Linen, Peeled Paint, Picked Raspberry, Cracked Pistachio, Versafine Onyx Black, Versa Mark, White EP, black Copic

Peony Wedding Card

Today I have a card for the June Inspiration Challenge at Altenew. Here is the pretty inspiration photo:
and here is my card:

I recreated the texture and sparkle at the top of the wedding dress using a stencil and modeling paste and then sprinkling some chunky glitter on the paste while it was still wet. I cut the panel, edged the bottom with a piece of silver glitter tape and mounted it on my card base with a piece of fun foam.

I stamped the floral images from Peony Bouquet  with Versa Mark onto cold press watercolour paper, heat embossed with clear EP and then coloured them with Peerless Watercolours. The leaves were stamped and inked on white cardstock, with some Wink of Stella on the smaller leaves. My sentiment, from Persian Motifs, was heat embossed with silver onto a black cardstock diecut. A few mini pearls coloured with a black Copic marker finished the card.

Supplies:
Stamps - Peony Bouquet, Persian Motifs (Altenew)
Dies - Building Blocks (PTI)
Paper - 140 lb. Cold Press Watercolour Paper (Strathmore), Stampers Select White CS, True Black CS (PTI)
Ink - Peerless Watercolours, VersaMark, Clear EP, Silver EP, Garden Green,  Olive Green, Juniper, Ponderosa Pine (CTMH), Wink of Stella, Black Copic, modeling paste
Other - chunky silver glitter, stencil (Recollections), silver glitter tape, mini pearls

Monochrome Peonies

Today I have a card using my new stamp set from Altenew - Peony Bouquet. I absolutely love this beautiful set and stamping the multi layered blooms.

I used the grey inks from Altenew to create this monochrome card. I didn't have any cardstock to match for the die cut frame so I inked up some white cardstock with the darkest grey and die cut that. Created masks by stamping on copy paper and did some masking to create my floral cluster. Fussy cut the large bloom and popped it up for some dimension, it is also stamped underneath.

I am entering this card:
Simon Says Monday Challenge - Monochrome
Simon Says Wednesday Challenge - Mask It

Thanks for looking.
